Good Places To EatCharlottevilleThere are several good places to eat in Charlotteville village just a short walk from the White House. Gail’s Restaurant – excellent food and very friendly place open every evening except Sunday. Gail is our friend so mention you are staying in the White House Sharon and Phebs Restaurant – Excellent food and friendly – our friends and next door neighbours. They have probably the best prawns in Tobago. Open all day every day. You can go here just for a drink or a delicious meal. Jane’s Quality Kitchen in the middle of the beach in Charlotteville. Kosa is a friend too. Good lunches and dinners. Inexpensive, people are friendly and idyllic situation, rustic environment. Closed from Friday evening until they reopen on Saturday evening Lyda’s Bar - run by Lyda, a remarkable lady and a good friend of ours. Drinks every day. On Friday lunchtimes regularly and other lunchtimes with 24 hours notice Lyda will cook you delicious Buss up shut – an open roti. The Banana Boat is a good place for drinks, snacks and meals. Caroline the owner is a dive master and runs a dive centre G’s in Charlotteville opposite Sharon and Phebs. The food is inexpensive and it’s good for a drink. Michelle Jack will cook you a typical delicious Tobagonian meal in her home by prior arrangement. You eat on her terrace which hangs over the Caribbean sea. Ask for Michelle in the village or phone 660 5206 The Beach Bar is good for a beach side drink and for snacks Top River Pearl in Spring Street for cappucino, cakes etc SpeysideTen minutes drive. Jemma’s restaurant – best at lunchtime, special position and great lunch. Built in the trees right next to the sea. Closed on Friday sundown till Saturday sundown. Speyside Inn - Attractive hotel 10 minutes drive. Good food at western prices. Blue Waters Hotel - Food and drink by a lovely beach. CastaraThe Naturalist our friend Ancle serves food and drinks on the beach.Marguerite's restaurant on the main road near the river. Cas Creole on the beach – idyllic setting in the thatched beach building – food usually available. Boat House Restaurant on little beach is in idyllic situation. Lovely place for a drink and for a meal when available. Brenton is a friend so mention Steve and Jacquie at the White House. ScarboroughBlue Crab just up the hill from the RBTT bank is good and has a colonial feel. Kingswell Inn – you get a good meal for 25TT. Flavour Pot – excellent value and good food Crown PointNear the airport. The Kariwak
Village has absolutely excellent food and is a lovely hotel. |
